The Dreams

That's right Folks - I'm back and in action! For my first returning post I've decided to let you in on a few of my dreams. That means that this post will be crazy, scary and often not make sense. I started keeping a dream journal little while ago because my dreams are AWESOME and when I wake up I can only remember them for a few minutes. Common themes in my dreams are celebrities, work, murder and trying to get somewhere that I can't. Here are some gems from my sleep.

The doorbell rings. It lights up with evil eyes and plays the Happy Birthday song. I open these giant, heavy oak doors. There are 2 ladders on the porch and a UPS guy driving away. The truck turns around and comes back. Jared Leto (lead singer of 30 Seconds to Mars/My So Called Life Fame) jumps out. He delivers another package the size of an elephant with a crane that is on the back of the UPS truck.

I'm walking home from work down the windiest cobblestone road in the world - very remniscent of Brasil. A huge cart of waterballoons is spilled. The street is really crowded and it is a super hot day. This guy comes up and asks me what his family can do for fun around here. I suggest buying a kiddie pool and swimming in it. Then a group of guys want to start a wakeboarding team. Suddenly I'm carrying a wakeboard and I finish my walk home.

Out at the delta in the old day when it was a bunch of trailers. There is also a huge outdoor stage for theater performances. We keep doing musical scenes from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Amy Poelher and Tracy Morgan are there. Tracy keeps popping up in weird places using trap doors. I carry a microphone around with me everywhere. I'm trying to walk to places but giant black widow spiders keep making huge webs to block my path and I can't get through.

I clock in for work and walk over to the Worship Center (church) on campus. There everyone is very excited because Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers and Jesse McCartney are putting on a concert. In the middle of Hannah Montana's part she starts to play senior citizen style Bingo with the kids and they love it.

I have two recurring dreams. I only have them at certain times - One when I'm stressed out and another when I'm sick with a fever.

When I'm stressed:
I'm stuck in a world much like the one in the movie Tron. I'm there with my family and we are all running from someone chasing us. We have to hurdle these big colored bars before they shoot up to the ceiling and we can't pass. Finally we are almost away and there is one more blue bar to jump over. My whole family makes it except for me. I don't make it over before the bar goes up and I'm stuck. My family keeps going without me.

When I'm sick (I hate this one - been having it since I was 3):
I've been shrunk down to the size of a character on a Dixie cup. That is where I am, on a Dixie cup that is covered in the Chutes and Ladders game. I'm running from a huge, blue, furry monster. He is chasing me up and down the chutes and ladders and I make my way around the cup until I come to a super high cliff above the ocean. I know I have to jump or the monster will get me. So I jump off the cliff - This is usually when I fall out of bed, not even kidding.

So there you have it. I left out the ones where I have to murder people to survive because they are trying to kill me. I have had a few dreams where I can fly, ones where I'm a vampire (killing and flying combined), dreams where I realize I can control what is happening, ones that are all in portuguese still, ones that are monochromatic, etc. What can I say? I'm nuts :)

Wow. It looks like you need major psychoanalysis. JK.

I think your sick recurring dream sounds like a scary episode of Sesame Street with the scary blue monster etc.

I'd just like to point out that most of your blogs are crazy, scary, and often don't make any sense. Also, it appears that you really are nucking futs.

I wonder if that "journal" I rescued from under your bed had some of these things in it...
