California

Well kids... I've recently returned from Cali and let me tell how great of a vacation it was last week! Where to start? I landed late at night (according to Michele) at 9:30 pm. Oakland airport is always a bustling (I know that I spelled that wrong) metropolis. Stayed up late doing nothing (yeah!) and was up bright and early Monday morning to head out to the Sacramento Delta. Here my fam has a "place" on the water. By place I mean a small building and three trailers on a lot. There are about 70 other lots on the island too. Sounds kinda white trash, it kinda is, but not really. It's actually kinda nice - with a recent addition of an airconditioning unit - it's like the lap of luxury. I love it! There are no phones (well, cell phones - but they don't really ring out there, not too great of reception), no tv channels, no people! It was just hot, sunny and the water was amazing!
So we went skiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, wakeskating, air chairing, hydrosliding and swimming every single day! It was 112 degrees almost every day while I was there! You didn't even want to get out of the water and let's just say that when the airconditioned room felt amazing at 90 degrees - so cool and refreshing! At the peak there were 20 people out at "the place" and it was so much fun. I mean it was just crazy havoc being spread throughout... so fun.
There was a fish that was protecting some eggs that had been attached to the dock and Robert (that's the fish) would swim out and bite you. That's right, bite. I think that he thought he was a shark or something... but you would just be floating along, minding your own business when BAM! Robert on one of his infamous sneak attacks would get you and leave a little red welt right where he bit you. I can safely say that almost everyone out there was a victim at one time or another, but no lives were lost and no blood was shed. It just scared the crap out of you. It did make it very fun to pinch people and freak them out whenever possible :)
Then there was the ultimate splash. Ina moment of pure genius, I figured out how to make the biggest splash possible. When jumping in - push all of your momentum forward as you hit the water and send a tidal wave toward the unsuspecting and unprepared. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of teaching this to other people and was tortured also.
And finally the epic seaweed fight. Well, out in the water there is a lot seaweed that grows and it's kinda gross. Especially if you find it wrapped around your foot when just casually swimming by... BUT if it happens to be everywhere because "the men" decided that it needed to be cleared out and instead made huge seaweed bombs to be chucked at people - well, the rest is history. That's how the pleasant lagoon was turned into a war zone. In the end I was hit square it face (with an open mouth I might add) by a seaweed bomb. Thanks Chris... I almost died, it was a close call. In the end it was all okay.
In the end - there were many games played, movies watched, books ready, tanning done and eating, lots and lots of eating! To conclude it was one of the best vacations ever had!

Sounds like a lot of fun! Too bad it won't be nice and sunny when you come up to K-can. I can gurantee it won't get up to 100 in Oct., maybe 60 at best. But I think you did spell bustling right. That was a great long post.
